TWO WOMEN DROWNED
CAR PLUNGES INTO RIVER. Syndey, June 25. The police at Kogarah, a suburb, have been informed that a motor car with a man and two women overshot the punt at Taren Point, George’s River, early this morning and sank in deep water. Both women are reported drowned. The man scrambled out safely.—Australian Press Association. VICTIMS IMPRISONED IN CAR. (Rec. 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, June 25. The motor car which plunged into the water at Taren Point contained six persons, four of whom were able to get ashore. Two girls, Maude Dennis and Betty Hickey, were imprisoned in the car and drowned.— Australian Press Association.
