John Galaworthy has a new story, which belongs to the later phase of the “Forsyte Saga” appearing shortly. Meanwhile a monograph on him and his work, written by Conal O’Riordan, the Irish novelist, is published by Heinemann. It seems that Mr. O’Riordan was one of the first to draw attention to the literary possibilities of the young author of “The Dark Flower.” He steadily followed the maturing art of Mr. Galsworthy, and there has been a long friendship between them. He is, therefore, able to make his monograph both literary and personal, but its principal merit is as a study of the mind and art of its distinguished object.
