CIRCULATION OF BLOOD
ANNIVERSARY OF DISCOVERER. RECEPTION AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE. Rugby, May 14. The King received at Buckingham Palace 100 scientists and doctors from all parts of the world who are in London to honour the anniversary of William Harvey’s discovery of the circulation of blood. Sir John Bradford, president of the Royal College of Physicians, introducing the delegates, mentioned how his Majesty’s predecessors defended Harvey. His Majesty, in reply, said he was proud to think that the rulers of England of that day, recognizing Harvey’s great gifts, granted their patronage and help in his work and were thus entitled to the claim of having contributed to the benefit of medical science. —British Official Wireless.
