YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS. At yesterday’s meeting of the Southland Land Board, presided over by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr H. C. Kensington, the following transactions were put through:— The proposal to close certain roads in blocks I, 11, 111, IV, and XIV, Town of Dacre, was approved. The Chief Surveyor presented a plan of a new road deviation to give access to Sunnyside Homestead, Monowai Survey District, which was approved. A year to year right, at £1 per annum, on usual conditions, was granted to John Kirkpatrick, lessee of Sec. 5, Blk IX, Lullburn S.D., over Sec. 6, Blk VII, Lillburn S.D. (4 acres). Mr E. Fitzgibbon was granted a year to year grazing right over Sec. 30, Blk. 111, New River Hundred (30 acres) education endowment. Rent £5 per annum. Gorse to be kept in check. The year to year right held by Mrs Margaret C. Me Vicar over Sec. 66 and adjoining Crown Lands, Town of Tuatapere extension No. 2 (2ac Irood) was cancelled at lessee’s own request. Alfred D. Couling was granted a year to year right over Crown Land, Blk. VII, Longwood S.D. (6 acres) at 10/- per annum, usual conditions. The application of Arthur Hobbs for a year to year license over Sec. 18, Blk. 1., Waikaka S.D., at present held by John McMullan was held over. The board decided to grant to Graham Murrell a year’s right over lots I. to VI. Manapouri Township (819 acres) previously leased to Robert Murrell. The following transfers were approved: Section 26, Block VII., Invercargill Hundred, 14ac 3 r 38p, Margaret Pay to Alexander Macßeth. Section 76, Block 1., Wendon S.D., 320 acres, Colin Robertson, sub-lease to Robert Robertson. Section 31, Block Waikaia S.D., 137 ac 2r OOp, Colin Robertson, sub-lease to Robert Robertson. Section 67, 68, Block XXII. Invercargill Hundred, 3lac 3r 30p, Leonard Mount Buddle, to Emily Ada Collett, wife of Samuel Collett, of Tisbury, farmer. The following application was recommended for approval of the Hon. Minister of Lands: Sections 76, 77, Block XXII, Invercargill Hundred, 39ac 2r 22p, Leonard Mount Buddle to Emily Ada Collett, wife of Samuel Collett of Tisbury, farmer.
