NEGLIGENCE ALLEGED
SUCCESSFUL CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. SEQUEL TO MOTOR FATALITY. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 14. A claim for £l5OO damages for alleged negligence arising out of a motor fatality in November last was concluded before the Chief Justice and a Jury in the Supreme Court to-day. The accident happened on November 17, 1926, when a Masterton service car and a motor-car, the latter belonging to Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., collided. The service car was overturned and William Kirk Henderson, a passenger, received injuries from which he died two months later. Henderson, it was stated, in addition to supporting his wife, contributed to the support of his parent. Isabella Henderson, his widow, took action, claiming damages from Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and from Thomas Flannery, wool-buyer, driver of the other car and a servant of the company, through whose negligence the alleged accident was caused. Defendants denied negligence and further alleged that the accident was caused by the driver of the service car. The Jury returned a verdict for plaintiff for £lOOO,
