A PITIFUL CASE. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, April 5. R. W. Cornyns, a coal merchant at Oxford, is totally blind as the result of an accident which occurred yesterday. He

was chopping wood when a piece flew up striking him on the eye and completely destroying it. Several years ago, Cornyns lost the sight of his other eye in an almost similar way. On that occasion he was breaking coal.
