THE VICTORIA HOME

FUNDS NEEDED. APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC. The Victoria Home, which does an invaluable work among young women in distress, recently made an appeal through our columns for funds. The committee of management derives its income partly from grants made from time to time by the Charitable Aid Board, partly from a savings bank endowment, and partly from charges paid by those whom the Home assists. The latter source is uncertain, as the doors of the Home are open to those who need succour whether they can pay or not. The income from all the sources mentioned is insufficient, by about £2OO per annum for the committee’s requirements, and to meet this deficiency the committee depends upon the public for voluntary contributions. At the present time the buildings are in need of additions and renovations, and the call for money is particularly urgent. The following subscriptions have been received:—Amount previously acknowledged £6B 9/6; Mrs B. C. G. £1 1/-; M. G. 3/-; A. M. C. £1 0/10; W. A. Oft £2 2/-; J. Somerville £1; E. R. Wilson £2; W. S. £l.
