ACCIDENTS.& FATALITIES
MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, October 31. John Johnson, manager of the Auckland Cycle and Motor Depot, when riding a motor cycle on the Great North Road collided with a motor bus. Johnson was hurled over the bonnet of the bus, receiving injuries from which he died. At the scene of the accident road repairs are in progress, leaving only a portion of the road available for traffic. Deceased was aged 50 years and leaves a wife and three children. PICKED UP UNCONSCIOUS. Dunedin, October 31. A young man named James Kirkland was picked up unconscious on the Brighton road this afternoon, his motor cycle apparently having skidded. He was sent to hospital seriously ill and is not yet conscious. MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. Christchurch, October 31. James Simpson, aged 18, was trying out a motor cycle and side chair when he lost control of the machine which capsized throwing him on his head and causing severe injuries and concussion. He is on the dangerously ill list.
