A fire at Dalby destroyed a large building occupied by three firms in the heart of the town. The damage is £lO,OOO. —A. and N.Z. EARTHQUAKES NORTH OF AUSTRALIA Sydney, October 29. Earthquake shocks were recorded at Riverview at 6.15 and 11 p.m. yesterday, but it is not yet possible to state definitely their nature. The observatory at Perth also registered shocks, it is thought among the islands north of Australia,—A. & NJZ. SATE OF EX-ENEMY STEAMERS. Sydney, October 29. The chairman of the Commonwealth Shipping Board states that negotiations have been completed for the sale of the exenemy steamers Boorara and Bulla to Greek buyers.—A. & NJS.
