DAIRY CONTROL
BOARD MEETS PRICE FIXING PROPOSALS MODIFIED AN IMPORTANT DECISION (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 27. A Dairy Control Board meeting was held to-day. No official statement is available as to what business was transacted and what resolutions were passed. It is understood, however, that the board decided that a committee of three representatives of the London agencies will confer with the London Board, Messrs lorns, Motion and Wright, and meet from time to time for the purpose of valuing the produce. If the two producers’ members of the board should not agree as to the value put on by the joint committee the matter will be left to the London agencies, but the New Zealand Board of Control will have the right to over-ride the decisions of the others if thought necessary. THE BOARD’S POLICY. DISCUSSION BY FARMERS’ UNION. Wellington, October 27. The policy adopted by the Dairy Control Board prior to the enforcement of control was the subject of critical remarks made by the president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at a meeting of the Dominion executive of that organisation to-day. After discussion the committee recorded its appreciation of the work of the Board.
