OUTBREAK QUELLED. (Rec. 1.10 a.m.) Delhi, June 16. The casualties in the Rawalpindi riots are 14 killed and 50 wounded. British troops and police quelled the outbreak without firing on the crowd.—Reuter. AUSTRALIAN STEIKE MINERS TO RESUME WORK. WORK COMMENCES MONDAY. (Rec. 8.20 p.m.) Sydney, June 16. An aggregate meeting of engine-drivers and firemen in the Maitland field, which is the most important field in the State, carried a resolution agreeing to resume work on Saturday to prepare mines for full resumption by miners on Monday. Woollongong carried a similar resolution. There is now little doubt that there will be a resumption in all mines on Monday.—A. and N.Z. OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. (Rec. 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, June 16. Mr. Baddeley has announced that all the mines resume work on Monday and the restrictions on the use of gas are being lifted to-morrow. —A. and N.Z.
