GORE SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At Tuesday night’s meeting of the Gore School Committee Mr D. A. Dunn (chairman) presided, there being also present— Messrs W. K. Hamilton, R. Weir, J. Harper, W. McGill, J. P. Wylie and H. R. Robertson (secretary). Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Dr Gresham and Mr R. W. McCreath. The Visiting Committee reported on several matters in and about the school which required attention, the most pressing of these being the boys’ lavatories, where a constant overflow of water from the cisterns needed expert treatment. Two tables required in the classrooms were ordered to be obtained; goal-posts in the hockey area of the domain are to be repaired forthwith; and authority was given to have the gates and piping of the front fence painted so as to complete the work of beautification there. Messrs Hamilton and McGill were appointed delegates to a joint committee to consider, with representatives of the Gore High School Board of Governors and the Gore Hockey Association, the purchase of a mower for use on the playing areas under the jurisdiction of the three bodies mentioned. Dr Gresham and Mr Hamilton were appointed a Visiting Committee for the ensuing month.
