ALLEGED THEFT
SEAMAN CHARGED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 14. There was extensive cargo pillaging on the steamer Port Melbourne during her voyage from Panama to Auckland, a hole being cut through a bulkhead giving access to three holds. In the Police Court to-day John Thomas Newbury, a member of the crew, on a charge of theft of cutlery, was remanded.
