YOUNG PEOPLE’S RALLY
ST PETER’S METHODIST CHURCH. A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. In the St Peter’s Methodist school room the Rev. and Mrs Bailey and family entertained the young men and women of the church at a social evening when upwards of 60 young people accepted the invitation extended to them. A very interesting and delightful evening was spent, consisting of musical and vocal items, competitions and games, which were fully participated in by all. During the evening the Rev. and Mrs Bailey extended a hearty welcome to all and explained in a few well chosen words the object of the gathering, emphasising the importance of church association—laying great stress on the individual co-opera-tion of the young people within the church to reach the young people without the church. The following items were artistically rendered during the evening:—Songs by Miss H. Williamson, Miss Anderson and Mr F. Farley; violin solo, Mr R. Hardy; the ac©ompauiste being: Mrs Peterson, Miss Bailey and Mr Lee. After refreshments were partaken of, Mr W. Patton and Mr G. Brown, on behalf of the guests, expressed their appreciation of the very pleasant evening spent.
