ALSACE AND LORRAINE
SIR FREDERICK CHAPMAN’S VIEWS. PEOPLE ANTI-GERMAN. (By Telegraph.—Preas Aaon,—Copyright ) (Sun Cable). LONDON, May 6. Sir Frederick and Lady Chapman have arrived from New Zealand. Sir Frederick Chapman, in an interview, said that as he had visited France during the Franco-Prussian War he was interested to discover the result ofjhe restoration of Alsace and Lorraine. He inquired closely among all classes. Except for minor differences in religious and educational affairs the 'inhabitants were absolutely re-united to France, and did not desire to see a German official or soldier again. It was also obvious that the Germans did not desire to recover Alsace and Lorraine, although they wanted to re-adjust their eastern boundary.
