GORE STOCK SALE

YESTERDAY’S AUCTION. (From our Correspondent.) The Gore stock sale was held yesterday (Tuesday), when there was a good attendance. There was a fairly large yarding of sheep of good average quality, but bidding was not very spirited and a fair amount of stock was passed in. Some of this, however, was disposed of by private sale later. Sheep prices were not as good as at the last sale, there being an appreciable drop all round. There was a fair yarding of cattle, some of which also was passed. Should the present spell of dry weather continue a further fall in prices can be anticipated. While some districts are reported to be in good condition, other parts of the Eastern District are in a rather bad state for want of water.
