JOINS LABOUR PARTY
LORD GORELL’S DECISION. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, January 23. Lord Gorell, in explaining his decision to join the Labour Party, said: “I believe in the Labour Party, just as I believe that while there is the three-party system we will have an unstable Government.”
Lord Gorell was Under-Secretary of State for Air in the Coalition Government. He is 41 years of age, and was educated at Harrow and Oxford. He was on the editorial staff of The Times, and served in the Great War. He has been a member of many important Government Committees, particularly those bearing on education. He has published a number of books, including two volumes of poems.
