IRELAND IMPROVING
SAFETY ACT TO GO. LONDON, January 13. The improved conditions prevailing in the Irish Free State are reflected in the announcement that the Public Safety Act of 1924, giving the Government special powers of arrest and detention, will lapse on February 1, and that a< number of persons arrested under that measure will be released. The Dublin correspondent of The Times says that the Government is satisfied that there is no further need for this special legislation and is cancelling it in favour of a permanent measure which will be applicable to all future cases of treason.
