BROKEN BY BETTING. AN ACCOMMODATING WIFE. (Sun Special). LONDON, October 2J. The issue to Viscount Torrington of a certificate of discharge in bankruptcy has been suspended for two years. His debts were declared at £B9OO and his assets at £2lBB, on which he paid a dividend of 2/6 in the £. Lady Torrington, who figured as a creditor to the extent of £lO,OOO, did not press her claim. Viscount Torrington admitted that he has lost £8975 in betting and attributed his bankruptcy to his living in excess of his income and heavy losses through betting and gambling.
