HORSE DRIVERS

NEW DOMINION AWARD. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 9. The new Dominion Award for horse drivers provides a 48-hours’ week with overtime beyond nine hours, or, in case of work before seven in the morning, or after six in the evening, and a weekly half-holiday. Minimum rates of wages are as follows: Man driving or attending one horse, £4 4/a week; two or more horses, £4 6/6; motor vehicles, scwt to one ton capacity, £4 7/-; one to two tons, £4 9/6; 2 to 3 tons, £4 12/-; over three tons, £4 15/6. Youths over 18 may be employed as horse drivers at wages from: 18 to 19 years, £2 7/6; 19 to 20, £2 IQA; 20 to 21, £2 17/6. Corresponding wages for youths on motors are: £2 7/6, £2 15/- £3 2/6, not io exceed one to each employer employing a fully paid driver, and one to each four additional fully paid drivers. The Award operates for two years from .September 15.
