MOOR’S RAID. AT MEDITERRANEAN GATEWAY. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) GIBRALTAR, September 8. It is reported from Tangier that the railway between Ceuta and Tangier has been cut. The raiders have torn up the permanent way for many miles, cut the telegraph and telephone lines, and captured the post at Bendiah. MADRID, September 8. The acting-President of the Directorate announces that the news from Morocco is now' more satisfactory. An enemy attack on Kala was repulsed. The enemy lost 500 dead and 600 wounded in the recent fighting in Tetuan. Ceuta and Tangier stand on the Eastern and western sides respectively of the promontory constituting the African flank of the Straits of Gibraltar. The distance between Ceuta and Tangier is about 40 miles.
