The enemy lost 500 dead and 600 wounded in the recent fighting in Tetuan. Ceuta and Tangier stand on the Eastern and western sides respectively of the promontory constituting the African flank of the Straits of Gibraltar. The distance between Ceuta and Tangier is about 40 miles.
