The newspapers declare that Joshua, who •was shot dead in his flat by a young woman named Mercer, who later committed suicide, was connected with the Australian wine industry. NEW SOUTH WALES TRANSPORT SERVICES. SYDNEY, September 9. The New South Wales railway and tramways earnings for the year ended June 13, amounted to £19,250,000, an increase of £431,000 over the previous year. Working expenses amounted to £14,009,000, an increase of £357,000. The net return on the total capital investment amounted to £5 2/10 per cent.
