LONDON, July 11. Butter is. slightly easier for best sorts, but Siberian which is arriving freely and selling readily at 156/- to 170/-. New Zealand choicest salted is at 188/-. Unsalted, which is very scarce, is quoted at 200/6. Australian is at 180/- to 182/-, unsalted 188/- to 190/-; Danish, 202/-. Cheese is firm. New Zealand coloured is at 90/-, white 94/-. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following advice from their head office, London, under date of July 10: The market for butter is steady, but quiet. We quote: New Zealand at 188/-, New Zealand exceptional brands at 192/-; Danish at 204/-; finest Australian salted ait 182/-, finest Australian unsalted at 192/-. The cheese market is steady. We quote: New Zealand white at 94/-, New Zealand coloured at 92/-; Canadian ca.f. at 92/-. FEILDING STOCK MARKET. YESTERDAY’S SALES. .FEILDING, July 11. A fair entry of sheep was offered to a large attendance of buyers, who bid with spirit, practically everything being sold under the hammer. Prices on the whole were on a par with previous sales. Very few hoggets were yarded, and these were not of first-class quality and did not meet with such a ready sale as formerly. Fat b.f. lambs sold at 25/-, 28/-, 36/1; fat ewes, 30/2, 28/6, 23/-, 29/6; do. b.f., 27/6, 37/-, 28/9, a few odd wethers 46/-, ewe with r.r. 39/6, stud do. 42/-, do. sounder 29/6, 29/3, 33/1, 35/3; two-tooth do, 46/-, 38/3, 46/6; , empty ewes, 11/9, 15/10, 16/1, 18/-, 17/-; b.f. hoggets 15/11, 17/11; ewe do, 22/1, 23/10; wether do, 17/7, 24/-, 23/-. There was a good yarding of fat cattle, which were lower by 2/-, while good daily stock showed an improvement. CANTERBURY MARKETS. DECLINE IN POTATO VALUES. CHRISTCHURCH, July 11. rhe slide in the potato market continues and at the moment prospects are far from encouraging. Vessels arriving this month from Victoria and due to leave are estimated to bring between them quite 20,000 sacks. The slide in local prices since the mid-week report is 10/- a ton. On Tuesday £6, was offered, yesterday £5 15/-, and to-day £5 10/- was offered and accepted in several cases. The quotation to fanners as a result is £4 5/-, on trucks. Growers are commencing to offer more freely, but will not accept this price after refusing up to £5 15/- three weeks ago. However, there have been some sales at £4 15/- and at £4 5/- on trucks or £5 10/-, f.o.b, s.i. Values are on a parity with the Auckland market. With the present Victorian quotations, oats are just a shade brighter, and it is reported that there is inquiry from Australia. Up to 5/2, f.o.bs.i, is quoted for July delivery, and 5/1 for August-September. Farmers are not offering oats. There is no change in chaff values, the small business transacted being confined to Canterbury and the Coast. To £7 is quoted on trucks, or £8 12/6 f.o.b.s.i. A little business has been done in cocksfoot at 12;Jd for standard seed. Danish is quoted at 90/- per cwt. SYDNEY SHEEP SALES. A RECORD ESTABLISHED., SYDNEY, July 11. (Received July 11, 8.30 p.m.) At the stud sheep sales a pen of 11 special stud rams from the Haddon Rig Stud realised the record price of 8325 guineas. LONDON WOOL SALES. A BUOYANT TONE. LONDON, July 10. At the wool sales the buoyancy continues. Competition is keen and general prices very firm. The Bradford tops tone improved all round, following London, but business is small and quotations unchanged.
