GRATEFUL AMERICAN

TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALAND. (Special to the Times). WELLINGTON, July 9. "Wherever I go, I shall regard New Zealand as home,” said Mr John E. Moran, vice-Consul for the United States, who left to-day by the Maunganui, to take up his new post in Melbourne. “I have spent three years in New Zealand, serving in Wellington and Auckland, and I have yet to meet a New Zealander doing other than his best to make things comfortable for the stranger within the gates.” he said. Mrs Moran echoed the sentiments to the officials of the Government. Mr Moran was particularly grateful for the consideration and courtesy extended to him in all branches of the services.
