(Received June 24, 7.5 p.m.) Owing to the balance of £14,000 outstanding in connection with the aeroplanes specially built for Amundsen’s Polar flight not having been handed to the Italian Government, the latter has stated that if the sum is not paid in a fortnight the Government will take over the machines, conduct the flight and invite Amundsen to accompany it as second in command.
