NATIONAL STRIKE IMMINENT. EMPLOYERS’ OFFER REJECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON May 7. (Received May 7, 11 p.m.) The Daily Herald says that a national strike affecting 500,000 building trade workers appears inevitable. The operatives have rejected the employers’ offer of one halfpenny an hour, instead of the twopence demanded, and voted for a strike, the date of which has been fixed but has not yet been disclosed.
