BLUDGEONED and BOUND
WOMAN’S ALARMING EXPERIENCE. A RAETIHI SENSATION. (Per United Press Association). WANGANUI, April 17. Information is to hand from Ractihi that Mrs , Warnock, living in Plunket street in that township, was the victim of an alarming experience last night, being found at 8 o’clock, lying on the floor bound hand and foot, and with a bandage over her mouth. The discovery was made by her daughter, who, with three other children, was in the house, Mr Warnock being away at Karioi. Constable McGowan, on being called to the house, extricated Mrs Warnock from her predicament. He learned from her that on hearing noises in the house she went from room to room, when she wai struck by a masked burglar, and rendered unconscious. she came to she found herself bound. R was her groanings that awakened her daughter. Every room in the house was disturbed, articles of every description being thrown on the floor. Money and jewellery, including a gold watch and diamond rings, are missing. The house was locked up when the family retired, and the only means of entrance for the burglar was the scullery window, around which articlefl seemed to have been disturbed.
