WASHINGTON, November 19. (Received November 20, 11.0 p.m.)
The chairman (Mr Johnson) of the House of Representatives’ Immigration Committee discussed immigration with President Coolidge and then summoned the Committee to frame immigration legislation on the basis of two per cent, yearly of nationals in the United States in 1890 as compared with three per cent, of the 1910 census. This would reduce the immigration fo 340,000 instead of 350,000 annually and increase the Teuton, Celtic and British immigration quotas, but reducing the Latin quota.
