LIQUOR FOR THE SICK
AMERICAN PRESCRIPTION TOTALS. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright./ (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) WASHINGTON, November 19. The Prohibition Bureau announces that chemists’ shops, acting on physicians’ prescriptions which is permitted under the law, dispensed 139,862 gallons of spirits and 30,752 gallons of wine during the fiscal year 1923. This was the American consumption of alcohol for medical purposes.
