A SUGGESTION.
To the Editor. Sir, —I have never viewed the Devil’s Pool but, guided by the descriptions which have appeared in the correspondence columns of your paper, I would suggest that if one or more wire ropes were strained across the pool at about 3 feet from the surface of the water and short fibre rope ends affixed to hang to the surface at about every 6 feet where the water is deep, even indifferent swimmers would run very little risk of being drowned and the experts would not be seriously inconvenienced. The whole outfit would not cost much and if well tarred would last a long time. I am, etc., “SYMPATHETIC.”
