ANTI CHURCH CAMPAIGN IN GEORGIA (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (The Times.) BERLIN, May 1. The Bolsheviks anti-church campaign has been furthered in Georgia. The head of the Catholic Church has been imprisoned together with 80 to 90 per cent, of the entire priesthood in the province. Armed Cheka agents scoured the whole country requisitioning church treasurers. The churches have been turned into Communist clubs despite tfce opposition of the population. TROTSKY WANTS DICTATORSHIP. FIGHT BETWEEN JEW AND GENTILE. RIGA, May 1. Trotsky is bidding seriously for dictatorship of the Soviet. He is supported by the Jewish elements that form an overwhelming majority of the prominent Communists. Nevertheless anti-Semitism is becoming more and more threatening and invading Communist ranks. Trotsky’s ambitions are forcing Krassin, Tchitcherin and others into the opposition faction containing practically no Jews and crystallising the Communists into two distinct camps—Jews and non-Jews. The Jews control Cheka and the army. There are constant war scares, but it is • believed war is the last thing Trotsky wants as it will almost inevitably lead to the total collapse of the Communist regime.
