WEDDING

MILLAR-MATHESON. (Special to the TimesL GREYMOUTH, February 20. A wedding of interest throughout the South Island was celebrated at St. John’s Presbyterian Church. Greymouth, this morning, when Miss Jean Matheson, eldest daughter of Inspector and Mrs Matheson, Buccleugh street, Greymouth, was married to Mr W. W. Millar, third son of the late J. Millar and Mrs Millar of A. C. Millar, Limited, the well known Invercargill firm. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. T. N. Cuttie, assisted by the Rev. A.- T. Thompson, M.A. The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, by whom she was subsequently given away, wore a charming coat and frock of cream gabardine trimmed with silk braid, and hat, with white georgette, and also carried a beautiful shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her sisters, Misses C. and A. C. Matheson, as bridesmaids, each being attired in a neat frock of lemon crepe de chine, with hat of black georgette. Mrs Matheson, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue tailored costume, and Mrs Millar, mother of the bridegroom, wore a costume of black crepe de chine. Mr Guy Millar, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. Among the old friends of the family present were:—-Miss Balneaves and Misses Dee. Great interest was taken in the ceremony, the Church being well filled. After the ceremony, the parents of the bride tendered a reception to about 60 guests. The usual toasts were duly honoured and best wishes were expressed to the bride and bridegroom for their future happiness. Mr and Mrs W. W. Millar, subsequently left for Westport, Nelson and Christchurch. The bride is travelling in a sin art brown costume.
