SOUTH BRANCH MEETING. The South branch of the W.C.T.U. met on Tuesday, February 13, in the Elies road Church. Mr Pasley (president) presided over a good attendance. The election of officers resulted as follows President, Mrs W. S. Pasley; vice-presidents, Mesdames MacGregor, Parkins, Smart, Robb, Richards and Haslem; correspondence secretary, Mrs Crozier ; recording secretary, Mrs Piper; treasurer, Mrs MacGregor; superintendant—white ribbon, Mesdames Latham and Macgregor; purity, Mesdames Wilson and Jackson; L.T.L., Mrs Pasley; Maori, Mrs Sharpe; cradle roll,, Mesdames Carter and Crozier; pianist, Mrs Parker; press, Mrs Cole; notable days, Mrs Garrett. Arrangements for the Dominion Convention to be held in Invercargill on March 7 were discussed and Mrs Garrett and Smart were appointed as delegates to represent the South Union. It was decided that as Convention would be in session on the usual meeting day that the meeting be held on March 20 and that it be an open meeting for visitors. Mrs Stanley Brown is to be asked to deliver an i-ddress and a musical programme and afternoon tea will be arranged. It was also decided that a letter of thanks should be sent to the Knok Deacon’s Court for the sent to the Knox Deacon’s Court for the ing the past year and to express regret that they had withdrawn the privilege. A report from the Banner Committee was received showing that the Banner for the South Union would be ready to display at Convention. Members were asked to do their best to secure hospitality for delegates.
