Carr won his heat in the 100yds handicap. He won from scatch in 10 2-ssec. He seemed to be running well within himself all the way. He has powerful arm action and a big stride that is most impressive. Kirksey, earlier in the day, did 100yds in 10 2-ssec unpaced. Krogness also practised and appeared quite recovered from his injury. Merchant put the shot 43 feet 2 inches in an exhibition throw.
