In tlie House of Representatives, Mr Massey Greene, replying to criticisms of the Government’s policy in fostering and developing trade between Australia and the Pacific Islands, said the copra trade was eight times greater than it w-as in 1913. The supply of Australian goods to the Islands had been greatly increased, and a continuous subsidised steamer service to and from the Islands was assured. The first instalment of the judgment in the wool tops case has been delivered by I Mr Justice Isaacs, whose function was to determine questions of fact, and refer ques- ■ Lions of law to be argued before the Full ! High Court. Mr Justice Isaacs found against the company. SYDNEY, October 8. Dr Sinclair has issued a warning that plague is not necessarily entirely eliminated from Sydney. An infected rat was discovered there as late as July 30. He draws attention to the fact that the Queensland outbreak occurred about this time bast year.
