SOLICITOR’S SUICIDE

DEATH BY GAS POISONING. (Per United Press Association.) HAMILTON, October 5. At the inquest on Thomas Patrick Walshe, solicitor, Joseph Trotter, a taxi driver, said he called at deceased’s office about 9.30 on Saturday night and found Walshe lying on the floor beside a gas ring. Dr. Waddell said that at 2 o’clock deceased, who was under the influence of liquor, told him he was done and intended tp commit suicide. Witness told him not to be silly and to go home. Deceased agreed to go home, saying be would fight down the suicidal tendency. Death was due to gas poisoning. The police stated that the gas meter had run out when they saw deceased. Half a bottle of whisky was in the office. The Coroner found that deceased committed suicide by inhaling coal gas
