EXAMINATION OF PASSENGERS. SYDNEY DOCTOR’S STATEMENT DENIED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 6. The Hon. C J. Parr, in the course of a statement in the House to-day denied the allegations made in a recent cable message by a Sydney medical practitioner regarding the method of examining the passengers and crews on steamers arriving from plague infected countries. He read a report from Dr McLean, port health officer at Wellington, who said every precaution, was taken and very special care was exercised in sterilizing the thermometers used. The position was now so improved that he had decided for the future that the taking of the temperatures of passengers was unnecessary.
