WORK OF THE SESSION
THE REMAINING BUSINESS PRIME MINISTER’S LIST (Special to the Times.) WELLINGTON, October 5. The Prime Minister made a brief statement to-day regarding the remaining work of the session. He said he did not know that the House would be able to deal with all the Bills he would mention, but his list would indicate the work that the Government had in view. The Bills in hand at the present time included the Crimes Amendment Bill, Dairy Industry Amendment Bill (dealing with the question of over run), Companies Consolidation Bill (this might not be passed during the present session), Stamp Duties Bill (practically a consolidation and not contentious), and the Legislature Amendment Bill (relating to the political rights of State employees). Other Bills were the Main Highways Bill, Tongariro National Park Bill (setting up a board of control for the park), Harbours Amendment Bill (promised last year), Cook Islands Amendment vtill (intended to prevent undesirable immigrants entering the islands), Scaffolding Amendment Bill, Mining Amendment Bill, Rating Amendment Bill, Two “Washing-up” Bills (Native and European), Finance Bill, and an Appropriation Bill. The Public Service Superannuation Bill would be introduced. It was urgent, but he was not sure that it could proceed during the present session. ' A Labour member. What shall we do i after that? Mr Massey? Give account of your stewardship, and after that the deluge. 1 1
