VALUATION UNDER B.A.W.R.A. SYSTEM.

The valuation, for the various Southland clips to be offered on Thursday, was completed by Mr J. J. Ward yesterday, and in conversation with a Times reporter he stated that one man had been appointed for the valuation in order that uniformity should be attained. He was given certain instructions to value on, and although values were low, it did not mean that the valuation price would not be passed at auction. Under the BA.W.R.A. system, upon which the valuation was based, certain values were allotted grade, count (spinning capacity), and yield (weight of clean wool scoured). Pricer were fixed throughout Australasia under the B.A.W.R.A. system, and he instanced some cases where wool, which brought 17$d lasi year, was limited to a 64d valuation. The catalogue was also limited to 8000 bales, anc bidding would commence at 4 p.m. or Thursday. He expressed the opinion thai there was every possibility of the good wooli bringing better prices than in Dunedin.
