GORE SWIMMING CLUB
DEPUTATION TO BOROUGH COUNCIL A deputation from the Gore Swimming Club waited on the Borough Council last night for the purpose of requesting the Council to repair the Gore swimming baths Messrs Dolamore, Meek, Jobbins, Ferguson and Graham al spoke with reference to the present state of the swimming baths. The baths were in such a leaky condition that they could never be filled with water. The baths were also very dirty and dangerous to swimmers. This was the first occasion on which the swimming club had asked the Council for assistance. The members of the deputation pointed out the great benefit the baths were to the town. They would like to have any repairs that the Council decided on to be undertaken at once, bo that the baths would be in a fit state for use at the beginning of next season. The matter was referred to the Lightin'’ Committee fa? report.
