FLOODS IN JAPAN
MUCH DAMAGE AND LOSS OF LIFE. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) TOKIO, June 20. (Received June 20, 10.45 p.m.) Following on a prolonged rainy season the worst floods in thirty years have occurred. One hundred and thirty people were drowned in northern Kiushiu Island. Several thousand houses were destroyed in Fukuoka, Saga, Oita, and Nagasaki. Bridges were carried away and collieries flooded in the cities of Kokura, Kurume, and Fukugnatea.
