Millerand was elected to the Presidency by a large majority on the first ballot. OPPOSITION FROM THE LEFT. OBJECTION TO ELYSEE DICTATION. PARIS, September 22. (Received September 23, 7.55 p.m.) The opposition to M. Millerand came from the Left. Many politicians have decided to oppose the new political conception with which M. Millerand is identified, whereby the Elysee dictates its personal politics to the French Government.
