SALE OF WORK
The bazaar held in connection with Wesley Church, Teviot street, on Wednesday afternoon and evening, was a great success. The sale was opened by his Worship the Mayor, and the following presided at stalls; Mesdames Matthews, Smith, Lawrence, A. Stuck, 11. Stuck, Philpot, Penny, Longley, Sherbourne, Gregg, Cheyne, Pyle (2), and others. The successful exhibitors in the baking and sweet competition were: Fancy cake, Mrs G. McDonald: sponge, Mrs Lawrence; shr/t----bread, Mrs C. F. Roberts; oven scones and bread, Mrs Holland; sweets, Mrs Philpot. The South School Drum and Fife Band supplied music at the door and an excellent evening programme was provided by a number of children and friends from Leet street Church, under the leadership of Miss T. Thompson, the accompaniments being well played by Mr E. Thomson. A shooting gallery, and nail driving competition attracted many, and the results of the sale were very gratifying to all concerned.
