DROWNED IN MUD TANK. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 10. The Coroner (Mr J. Bartholomew) returned a verdict of accidental death in the case of the boy Douglas, aged three, who was drowned in one of the Drainage Board’s mud tanks. He added that mud tanks and gratings were a menace to the lives of children on the flat. The tanks were positive death traps. He was strongly of opinion that steps should be taken to render the grating more secure and prevent their being misplaced by children and others.
