THE STRANDED ARAHURA

SUCCESSFULLY REFLOATED. (Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, March 6. The Arahura was refloated about 1 a.m. An overhaul of the engines is proceeding. Captain McDonald, the Union Co.’s Marine Superintendent, states that temporary repairs are being effected with a view to making the Arahura seaworthy before leaving to be docked. She will proceed under her own steam. The vessel is not making any water. A SURVEY ORDERED. ’WELLINGTON, March 6. The Marine Department to-day issued instructions for a survey of the Arahura to determine If the vessel is seaworthy for the voyage to Auckland. The Magisterial enquiry into last week’s collision is to be ’held at Auckland.
