114 OFFICERS AND MEN REACH AUCKLAND.

SOUTHLAND CASES. The Hospital ship Marama is due at Port Chalmers on Friday. She has the following cases for Invercargill, which arc expected to reach here by second express on Friday:— Cot cases for Invercargill Hospital: Private J. McPherson and J. McKendry. Private R. T. Jones (Lumsden), Private W. M. Marcussen (Bluff), Rifleban A. W. Traill (Stewart Island), Private J. E. Taylor (Waimahaka), and Private A. Smith (Gore). FURTHER ARRIVALS.

(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 6. Two overseas vessels, which arrived this morning, brought men returned from active service. The great majority have come back unfit for active service, but a few are on furlough and a number have returned to report for duty. The first ship to arrive brought six officers, four non.-com. officers, and 35 men. The other vessel brought a total of 69 of all ranks. Of these there are one non-commissioned officer and 10 men for Auckland, while 19 of the non-commis-sioned officers will report at Wellington for duty. The Mayor boarded both vessels and extended a welcome on behalf of the citizens.
