The Rosamond reached Bluff yesterday from Dunedin, with 140 tons of general cargo to discharge. She loads for ■Wellington 300 sacks oats, 190 tons hemp, 200 bags gravel, 28 casks pelts, 125 cases milk, 10,000 firebricks, and a quantity of sundries. The Kahika has been delayed in discharging operations at New Plymouth owing to a shortage of labour and railway trucks. She was expected to leave the Taranaki port yesterday for Westport to load for Bluff and Oaniaru.

The Hinemoa was due at Jackson's Kay yesterday from Milford Bound. She will afterwards visit Westport and Cook Strait lighthouses, and is expected to arrive back at Wellington about the end of this week. The Maori arrived at Lyttelton at 7.10 a.m, yesterday, and therefore missed connection with the first express. The Union Company advise that the Te. Anau is lixerl to leave Auckland today for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is available to lift any island fruit transhipments ex the Talune for South Island ports. The Te Anau should arrive at Dunedin about the end of the week, and wall afterwards go to the Eluß. then Oaniaru and Timaru to load produce for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland.

Cable advice received states that the Huddart-Parker steamer Victoria was despatched from Sydney at 1 p.m. on Monday for Auckland. The Victoria has been absent from New Zealand waters for about three months. During her lengthy stay at Sydney she has undergone an extensive overhaul and repairs. She should reach Auckland on Friday evening. The local office of the Hud-dart-Parker Company advised to-day that the Victoria will only proceed as fax as Wellington this trip. She will return to Sydney via Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland from Wellington.

The weather has been unsettled and Showery in northernmost districts, and fair and very warm conditions have been experienced elsewhere. Northerly breezes have predominated, but easterly gales have persisted at stations north of East Cape and Kawhia. The atmospheric pressure has decreased slightly over the dominion to-day. ■ Present indications are for cloudy to •vercast conditions, with ruin in many parts of the country. Expect strong north-east winds, changing to south-east generally; but a continuance of easterly gales is likely in the far north. The barometer has a falling tendency in the north, but is due to rise in southern diet nets soon.
