Received January 25, 9.10 p.m. Sir ‘Douglas Haig reports: The enemy attempted a raid south-westward of Loos, whicli was easily beaten off, the enemy leaving a number of dead and wounded. We drove hack a party southwards of Hulluch, and raided trendies south-east ofYpres. We bombarded trenches southeastwards of Houcliez with good results. During air lighting, six German aeroplanes were destroyed and throe driven down damaged. One of ours was brought down and two are missing. DESTRUCTIVE ARTILLERY ACTIONS LONDON, January 25. Received January 25, 10.55 p.m. French communique: There has been destructive artillery tire against the enemy in the regidn of JVioulins Sous Touver.t. north-east of Hill 304, and an appreciably violent artillery struggle in the sector in Courieres Wood.
