It is reported that the Blohm and Voss shipbuilding yard, Hamburg, has during the war finished a large steamer for the Hamburg-South American Steamship Company She is 21,500 tons gross, and will carry a crew of 460. The steamer has accommodation for about 2000 passengers, Is named Cap Polonia, and is fitted with triple screws. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 5. Sailed —Hinemoa, for northern lighthouses; Tarawera (5.30 p.m.), for southern ports. WELLINGTON, September 5. Arrived —Pateena (9.30 a.m.), and Orepuki *(11,30), from Lyttelton. Sailed—Magic, scow (2 p.m.), for Puponga; Ngahere (S'), for Auckland, with the hulk Elinor Vernon in tow; Pateena (7.50), for Lyttelton. THE WEATHER. «• SUMMARY AND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, September 5. Mr Pemberton’s weather summary:— Barometric pressure has continued relatively low in the southernmost districts, and unsettled conditions have prevailed in those parts, witli high westerly winds. Fair weather has ruled elsewhere, and west and south-west breezes predominated. Present indications are for freshening westerly winds generally, the barometer falling further in the south.
