AMERICA’S ROTTEN SIDE. (By telegraph—PresaAssn.—Copyright) (United Service.) NEW YORK, July 20. Investigations indicate a system o£ gigantic graft among the New York police and the white slavers. The Grand Jury have returned indictments against five detectives who .are charged with bribery. All were attached to the Tenderloin district, and had been engaged in fighting the white slavers. The State Prosecutor promised startling disclosures. The investigation is the outcome of a grand ball, for which the Tenderloin residents were compelled to purchase a large block of tickets. It’is alleged that the police participated in the proceeds. A BOMB EXPLOSION. DISASTROUS RESULTS. SAN FRANCISCO, July 23. Received July 23, 11.35 p.m. Six persons were killed and twenty'nine injured by a bomb explosion. . It was concealed In a suit case and placed in, front of a house which was demolished. Several persons received postcard wainings which they disregarded. i ■■ - -.
